Elegant Egotist finally made it to the internet on April 10th, 2008, although I was originally given ownership of the fanlisting on March 24th, 2008, thanks to The Anime Fanlistings Network. I was completely overjoyed, especially because I was under the impression that I had been rejected (didn't receive my email). Unfortunately my happiness didn't help at all with the layout, and I went through several ideas, most of which I discarded because I wanted to use my own fan art instead of official pictures in the layout. More effort and love is put into it that way, in my opinion. Plus, I wanted to keep copyright infringement to a minimum if possible.
Fortunately, it was possible, and I managed to finally make something of my art. You can see more of it on the fan art page, or a larger version of the art used in the layout. Hope you like it. :)
Oh. Duh. And the site name, Elegant Egotist, comes from one of Mai's most used cards of the same name. I think it fits her well, since she's pretty confident and boastful of herself. Plus, I think she's pretty and carries herself in a dignified manner. Thus, Elegant Egotist.
Credits
The programs that I use are Paint Shop Pro 7 (graphics), Notepad (coding) and FireFTP (uploading files). Meanwhile, the dotted line brushes in the header are from Obsidian Dawn. The textured bars are from Papercuts. Fonts used are Medici Text (header), Violation (codes - "fan") and Ernest (codes - "Mai"). The screen captures used in the codes are from Kokoro no Naka.
